Partnership for crime prevention in Budapest - HU
Introduction
The document describes the needs for local crime prevention with the help of so called „city guards” (városőr). They are employed by the local government but not policemen.
Description
The document deals with the current situation of crime in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. It describes the local government’s tasks in social crime prevention and what police can do in this field (e.g. housing estate’s police, city police).
It would be wise to form a half-authority called city guard. Its members would be payed by the local government, but they wouldn’t be members of police (just like in Poland). These guards would be only responsible for local safety.
