Educative success programme: France
Introduction
The educational success programme under the social cohesion plan allows all the necessary means to be used to resolve the educational difficulties of children and adolescents as soon as they are identified.
Description
The objective of the educational success programme is to accompany children and adolescents showing signs of fragility, from nursery school to the end of compulsory education, taking account of all their environment and difficulties. In practice, these programmes comprise two separate forms of support: intervention among children and adolescents at school and secondary schools and the development of educational, sports and cultural projects intended for adolescents in difficulties at boarding schools. The State is the promoter of this policy at national level and the prefects, for whom this document is intended, are the leading partners in the local communities for its implementation. This regulatory text sets out the three criteria which determine the eligibility of local projects: an organisation focusing on children and adolescents in a fragile situation, a partnership within a juridical structure or a multidisciplinary professional team.
