Employment of roma population in Hungary
Introduction
The employment of Roma population in Hungary with a historical background and the possible solutions.
Description
The research firstly deals with the demographical situation of Roma population in Hungary (500.000 people). It shows the data about their employment and unemployment since the change of the regime and the reasons behind the high level of unemployment. Lately it describe the strategies of finding a job and some local and governmental policies about the better integration, education and employment of the Roma people. One could find some advice too about the Hungarian education system’s capacity toward the Romas.
Conclusions
It is widely known that Roma children have disadvantages at schools and the research – based on other Hungarian researchers – suggests that later this could lead to their social exclusion. Some changes in the educational system would be vital. The other vital part is the improvement of the vocational education for Roma students.
