II Integral Plan for Immigration in Andalucía
Introduction
Strategic plan that involves several coordinated measures in different fields with the common objective of promoting a full social, and personal integration of immigrants in Andalucía.
Description
Immigration from developing countries is a phenomenon that cannot be overlooked in western societies. On the contrary, there is an evident need to establish strategies and policies that guarantee the adequacy of the migratory flows to the job market and the social integration of the immigrants in destination societies. To address this issue, the Andalusian regional government (Junta de Andalucía) has reorganized its institutional structure in order to allow a transversal, coordinated and dynamic action in the field of migratory policies.
The main objective of the II Integral Plan for Immigration in Andalucía is to promote a full social, labour and personal integration of the immigrant population while guaranteeing their access to basic services such as Health, Education, Employment, Housing... In order to achieve this goal, it is essential to increase the coordination, cooperation and supervision of the activities of both public administrations and private agents in this field, as well as increasing the social awareness and understanding about the migratory reality. Finally, this perspective should be integrated in the international cooperation for development policy, in order to improve the life conditions in the originating countries.
The plan includes several measures, structured around eleven areas of action: Education, Employment, Health, Social services, Housing, Culture and Leisure, Legal assistance, Formation, Investigation, Social Awareness and International cooperation for development.
