International research project: Access to housing and building inclusion in Europe
Introduction
How do different European countries deal with the inclusion of immigrant groups and ethnic minorities? That is the central question of the international research project 'Building inclusion: Access to housing and building inclusion in Europe'. The project mainly focuses on housing and the social protection of the various groups mentioned above. The strategies and problems in cities receive particular attention. The project is supported by the European Community Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity (2007-2013) managed by the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the European Commission. Seven EU Member States participated in the initiative.
Description
The goals of the research project are:
  • To exchange knowledge and experience in the field of housing and the social projection of immigrants and ethnic minorities;
  • To learn from successful projects in various European neighbourhoods;
  • To formulate policy recommendations for EU Member States.
