The paper assesses poverty and social exclusion in Cyprus and considers the effectiveness of government policies to alleviate these problems.
Description
This paper assesses poverty and social exclusion in Cyprus and considers the effectiveness of government policies to alleviate these problems. It presents the overall social protection system of Cyprus and analyses factors influencing poverty and social exclusion. It concludes by outlining the main challenges for the future, the reforms needed and implications due to the EU accession. Published in Cyprus Economic Policy Paper no. 07-03
