Database of Experts on International Migration and Integration (DEMI)
Description
IMISCOE has constructed a comprehensive database of expertise in migration and integration (DEMI). DEMI includes the contact details and most important publications of prominent scholars from Europe (including Turkey) Northern Africa, the US and Canada.
The database allows searching on institute, name of researcher and fields of expertise. DEMI will be updated regularly in order to provide you with the most current information.
Background information
DEMI is an IMISCOE activity/project and the purpose of this project is to develop an online research tool on the IMISCOE website. The database will be a handy tool to find worldwide expertise in the fields of migration, integration and social cohesion.
This tool will not only serve researchers but will also be very practical to a broader public and specifically policy makers and media. With DEMI we can offer an easy way to find expertise and at the same time link to other migration relevant information sources.
Methodology
Via networks of IMISCOE institutes and researchers prominent scholars in the field were approached and asked to submit data to this database. IMISCOE wants to build an experts database as comprehensive as possible.
Visitors are therefore invited to inform IMISCOE when they feel a (their) name is missing in this experts database on migration and integration. New submissions will be checked by an independent board. The content of what will be inserted will always be checked with the person concerned and after approval added to the database.
EU involvement
DEMI is part of IMISCOE which is an EU funded Network of Excellence in the Sixth Framework Programme.
