Before the development of the project, there was an absolute lack of community centers and other installations in the areas affected by “Huelva In Action”. Neither were there initiatives related to digital literacy.

This second phase of the “Huelva in Action” project follows the same principles as its predecessor: citizens’ participation, urban vertebration, local cohesion and multilateral cooperation. Using the social installations network partly built in phase 1, new activities and programmes are developed that give content to these principles.

The network of community centres is improved with the creation of four new centres in different districts of the city and the improvement of another three. This new infrastructures are ready to hold different citizens’ services, in fields such as training, employment, culture or administration.

These centres are also provided with material and human resources to develop activities related to digital literacy, enabling access to the new information technologies to collectives in risk of exclusion, such as unemployed people, youth and women.

All these programmes are organised in collaboration with NGOs, social groups and experts in the fields of activity.
