Transport plan for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics - UK
Introduction
This document presents an overview of the proposed transport arrangements for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Description
The draft plan outlines the vision, objectives and key strategic directions that will form the basis of the forthcoming planning and delivery of transport for the games. The strategic guidelines and operational principles for transport systems and venue transport operations covering every mode of transport and client group are detailed. The roles and responsibilities of the organisations involved in delivering transport for the Games are described, as well as the proposed Olympic Route Network. Transport arrangements proposed for the Olympic Family client groups and for spectator and workforce transport are outlined. An overview is given of the proposed transport plans for the Paralympic Games. Plans for the centre for the command and control of transport during the Games are explained, and the transport benefits and improvements which will remain following the Games are highlighted.
