URBANDATA, providing urban information
Introduction
In 1995, five institutions from different European Countries founded the URBANDATA Association (Hungary has joined in 2000), with the aims to spread scientific, technical and cultural information on urban planning, transport, environment, architecture and building; to develop common products and facilities; to promote exchanges between national, European and international institutions and to develop other co-operative action on related matters.
Description
The URBANDATA Association is a consortium of urban information providers aiming to improve the international exchange and dissemination of information about urban issues and to develop new products and services which will aid those processes.

Network lead
The network lead changes annually, 2005:ES
Objectives
Main objective is to exchange and disseminate information about urban issues.
Two products are:
  • URBADOC – database of 700 000 bibliographical description of information sources
  • MULETA – lexicon: Multilingual and Multimedia Tool on Environment, Town and Country Planning, Building and Architecture. Muleta offers a translation of words into six languages. Intended to be enhanced by the community of professionals and scientists, it enables users to find concepts, tools & procedures in use in the participating countries
