Atlas about building, people and energy consumption – using GIS-technology
Introduction
Maps on energy consumption - based on GIS and databases - can give useful information for sustainable urban development.
Description
A report from the Danish Building Research Institute shows the opportunities the municipalities have to create an atlas with maps, which are based on GIS technology and existing data for the dwellings. The town Århus is used as case. It shows that is especially is possible to create new and interesting maps about consumption.The atlas also illustrates how municipalities can use database data in planning and urban development.

Combining GIS and several databases.
Conclusions
Maps on energy consumption - based on GIS and databases - can give useful information for a sustainable urban development.
