Good Practice Guide for Strategic Noise Mapping and the Production of Associated Data on Noise Exposure - Version 1

Introduction

Guide provides advice and recommendations to national, regional and local authorities on how to undertake noise assessment mapping in accordance with Directive 2002/49/EC.

Description

The Guide is to assist Member States and their competent authorities undertake noise mapping and produce the associated data required by Directive 2002/49/EC relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise.

The Guide addresses in particular those requirements associated with the first round of strategic noise mapping, which must be completed by 30 June 2007.

The results of a two-part study concerning the identification and development of good practice in the field of noise mapping and the determination of associated information on the noise exposure of people.
