The research has been concerned with the study and analysis of its interconnections with the surrounding suburban and peri-urban communities. A characteristic feature of these inter-connections is population growth, development of medium, small industrial enterprises.
Description
The city of Győr is a centre of fast growing electronic industries and financial and engineering services. The research has been concerned with the study and analysis of its interconnections with the surrounding suburban and peri-urban communities. A characteristic feature of these inter-connections is population growth as well as the development of services and medium size and small industrial enterprises in the suburban area. Further development is however hampered by the inadequacies of the transport pattern.
Background information
Rapid developments in the area caused the need of having strategy for further development. Main problems are; growth of population, transport, environment, employment, public services. Cross border relationships could be developed by strengthening thee process of agglomeration as well.
The research was conducted by the VÁTI Hungarian Nonprofit Company for Regional Development and Town Planning
Conclusions
Agglomeration on this specific area of the country can take effect on the cross-border activity with Austria and Slovakia. Advantage could be reached by co-ordinating developments in and around Gyor.
