Introduction

The document represents the basis for the national level as well as for the Kordall-communities upon which future planning decisions regarding brownfield development in Differdange-Sanem will be judged and intercommunal planning will be made possible.

Description

The aim of the land use concept is to link concepts and instruments on the level of local and regional planning to generate a superior regional framework concept and a development scenario for the brownfield Differdange-Sanem. The interdisciplinary planning process, conducted by four planning agencies, has been accompanied by two boards, one of political actors and one of technical experts. The land use concept for the Kordall is based on the following six working steps:

Basic evaluation of the spatial structure in consideration of existing planning documents on different planning levels;
Thematic analysis to identify potentials, deficiencies and objectives for the different sectors;
Identification of conflicts and a draft of superior planning objectives;
Elaboration of the land use concept in coordination with the local authorities;
Drawing up a project proposal for the brownfield Differdange-Sanem based on the land use concept;
Proposals for further proceedings in the planning process.
