Local Area Agreements Toolkit
Introduction
Case Study Information – Local Area Agreement toolkit
Problem
The toolkit explores lessons learnt from the first LAAs drafted in 2005. The idea for a toolkit came from a variety of people from different backgrounds including local practitioners and staff in government offices. They were keen to share what went well and – just as importantly – what didn’t go well with colleagues.
Description
Developing LAAs and involving partners on a range of social issues(private, public, local people etc) - also provides links to other resources related to partnership working and other issues
Approach
The toolkit highlights some of the challenges that might arise as an LAA is developed and how to resolve them, drawing on case studies and providing suggestions. It is a resource for anyone involved in developing LAAs.
Results
The toolkit provides a detailed look at LAAs.
The toolkit covers areas such as:
  • Getting started
  • Getting support
  • Developing the LAA
  • Key issues around sustainable communities
  • Children and young people
  • Safer and stronger communities
  • Healthier communities and older people
  • Neighbourhood renewal
  • Equalities and diversity
Beneficiaries
Practitioners.
