Regional Knowledge Centres’ Network
The Regional Knowledge Centres’ Network aims at providing spaces of
information, reflection and debates as well as a collection of knowledge
documents for urban actors.
Regional Knowledge Centres for « politique de la ville » account for places to exchange knowledge, skills and practices. Their activities and tools are specific for each knowledge centre and depend
on the regional context :
- library and information services - training for urban professionals - organisation of meetings and thematic seminars - production of case studies documents - methodological support to urban actors - publications Artfactories
Artfactories is an international resource platform dedicated to
art and cultural centres based on involvement within communities and citizen
artistic initiatives re-using old industrial buildings.
“Artfactories” represents, promotes and supports existing and emerging “project/spaces”. A ‘project/space’ is defined as a place of creativity, artistic production and elaboration, cross pollination, experimentation, invention, social encounters and conviviality. The intention of such spaces is to offer a step towards new possibilities, offering a vision of contemporary creation linked to community development. Direction du Développement Territorial
La Caisse des Dépôts is a state-owned financial institution that performs
public-interest missions on behalf of French central, regional and local
authorities. La Direction du Développement Territorial manage investments in
local development projects.
URBAN France
The Urban France network is an association whose role is to initiate and
implement joint technical assistance for the French partners in the Urban II
community initiative. The network was created to exchange and capitalise on
experience and facilitate joint training, dissemination of know-how and dialogue
with other urban policy and structural fund players in France and Europe.
PUCA
The urban development construction and architecture plan (Plan Urbanisme
Construction Architecture, PUCA) has an inter-ministerial vocation, coordinating
various research programs on urban development, construction and architecture.
The plan was created by the French Ministry of public works in order to advance
knowledge of territories and cities and to shed light on public action. The PUCA
permanent secretariat, a part of the General Department of Urban Development,
Housing and Construction, is in charge of steering the Plan. It leads and
organizes calls for research and demonstration proposals from scientific and
technical bodies, monitors the various programs included in the Plan and
highlights their value by publishing the results of the work undertaken.
ANAH
The National Housing Improvement Agency (Agence Nationale pour l’Amélioration
de l’Habitat, ANAH) is a national public institution under the authority of the
French minister for housing and the minister in charge of finance. The ANAH
allocates grants - under certain conditions - to improve private housing.
