Magazine research unveils the most liveable cities in the world 30-07-2008 The liveability of cities is an important issue nowadays. Urban professionals
around the world all break their heads over the question of how to make their
city a nice place to be - preferably even the best place to be. Many rankings
exist to show which cities perform well in the field of finance, sustainability
or innovation. Monocle Magazine however went one step further. The London-based
media brand undertook a three-month research to discover which cities in the
world are most liveable. In their search for liveability they considered both
scientific as well as subjective elements. The liveability of cities was
measured along a wide range of metrics, such as international connections,
safety and health care, but also hours of sunshine, nightlife and the amount of
green space. The final ranking consists of 25 cities, with Copenhagen at the top
of the list.
