Sustainable development of the Budapest agglomeration

Introduction
“Expansion or rational growth of the city” –was the title of the conference for which a series of researches on sustainability of the built environment was published by best Hungarian urban researchers.
Description
Wide range of researches of the Budapest agglomeration having examples from successful developments were published in order to remind policy makers of the whole agglomeration to create complex strategy of social, economical, transport issues of the development. Authors planned to offer their researches for a training of policy makers.

Conclusions
Authors state a great need of having a complex strategy for the development of Budapest agglomeration. 2.5 million inhabitants (one fourth of the total in Hungary) live in the area now, this number is rapidly growing. Social, economical sustainability of the development is a key aspect of planning.
