Urban development Strategy for Békéscsaba with special attention to the followings: transforming the local economy, enhancing the competitiveness, co-operation, city marketing, infrastructure developments for economic growths, enhancing competitive labour offer, management of social – environmental conflicts, etc.
State of the art were discussed with local stakeholders, and expert group has formulated two main scenarios of the future development for the next 15 years.
Scenario 1 has a strong economical influence mainly from outside. In the focus there is the development of the productivity of local economy.
In Scenario 2 local stakeholder play intensive role in formulating local environment of the economy in order to give more power and liveable environment of the community. In this scenario towns around the city are connected and involved in the city-development.
