Global climate change

Introduction
This paper deals with the impact of global climate with special attention to social security in Hungary’s main cities
Description
Global climate change constitutes a grave problem for the social and economic stability of human mankind. Climate changes induce far reaching shifts in the residential and working conditions, as well as the income levels and consumption of societies, which in turn may lead to increasing social disparities and social exclusion. All these result growing social conflicts and the erosion of social security. According to the author climate changes and the subsequent social tensions impact cities in a more dramatic way, therefore special attention and intervention is needed to solve the negative effects of climate changes in urban areas.
Conclusions
Global climate change can be closely associated with the issue of social security; however this aspect of climate change has been neglected until now. Global climate changes risk the political, economic and social equilibrium and the functioning of societies at the global, national and local levels. Global and national impacts are widely discussed, but local community level is often forgotten. Cities are very vulnerable in terms of social and ecological systems, therefore new tools need to be elaborated and implemented to increase social security and combat the negative effects of climate change in urban areas.
