This is a part of a comprehensive overview about the state of the art in the Hungarian settlement network, which discusses the internal and international trends effecting on the settlements and throws light on trends forming their system. This survey aims to sketch a general overview about the settlement policy as well as its acting field in Hungary in the last six decades. First of all it gives a historical oversight discussing the main focuses of the settlement policy and its substitutive guidelines, than evaluates the objectives and measures the last one and a half decade. It is stated that there is no practice today, which could be described as a settlement policy: in Hungary the usage and distribution of researches aims to provide settlement’s development are without conventional conception. At least the financial conditions of the settlement-groups and its changes and trends were negotiated in the material aims to support the settlement policy in the future.

There is no EU Board involved into the research.
