Golden stars 2007 reward best twinnings in Europe
12-11-2007

The 2007 awards ceremony of the Golden Stars for twinning has taken place in Brussels on 8 november 2007. The Golden Stars Awards are given to examples of projects around Europe that encourage active civic participation in EU issues. This year’s Forum focused on intercultural dialogue, and helped to usher in the upcoming European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008. Many of the prize-winning projects feature a strong intercultural profile and demonstrate how intercultural dialogue constitutes a fundamental part of active European citizenship.
The 2007 Golden Stars winners are:
  • Nether Kellet (UK) and Bussières (FR) - Twinning on conservation of energy and natural resources
  • Le Coudray St Germer (FR) and Trstena (SK) - Twinning on educating young people on the EU and European citizenship
  • Tekovské Luzany (SK) and Bataszek (HU), Ditrau (RO), Quaregnon (BE), newton abbot (UK), besigheim (DE), Ay Champagne (FR), Conde sur l'Escaut (FR), Kampen (NL) - Twinning on exchange of experience on racism, xenophobia and women/men equality

  • Wagrowiec (PL) and Adendorf (DE), Schönwalde (DE), Gyula (HU), Le Plessis Trevise (FR) and Russia and Denmark - Twinning on solidarity towards disabled persons.
