Public transport company in Odense introduces SMS-ticket 04-02-2008 For the first time in Denmark it is possible to buy your ticket to the bus
with your mobile phone. The public transport company FynBus entered the world of
technology by launching the SMS-ticket. Passengers in the city buses as well as
in the regional buses now have the upportunity to go by bus paying with their
mobile phones.
It is not the first time FynBus is invovled in developing new technology for
buses. In September 2007 they also launched online-buses with free Internet and
digital traffic information.
Last year it also became possible to send a SMS to the bus to get the real
time.
The SMS-ticket is yet another initiative in the proces of making public
transport more attractive. But the SMS-ticket also solves the problem carring
money in the buses.
”We are very proud of the SMS-ticket and believe the perspectives in this
project goes a long way - also in the future. FynBus focuses on making it
simple, easy and attractive to go by bus and in this context the SMS-ticket fits
really well", the manager of FynBus direktør Lars Oksbjerre says.
