Introduction
Sets out a proposed strategy to grow and develop use of the social enterprise business model in Scotland.
Description
Defines what is meant by social enterprise, outlines why it is valuable to communities, and explains how it contributes to Scottish Executive priorities. Looks at the challenges facing social enterprise.
Presents five long-term objectives:
  • increasing the use of the social enterprise business model;
  • opening up markets to social enterprise;
  • increasing the range of finance available;
  • improving business support;
  • raising the profile and demonstrating the value of social enterprise.
