Introduction
An action plan which sets out the Government’s plans for its continuing support for social enterprise.
Description
Britain’s social enterprise sector is one of the most vibrant and successful in the world, with over 55,000 social enterprises currently operating. This plan outlines how the government will work to enable social enterprises thrive and tackle the market failures that would otherwise frustrate them. It explains how the government aims to:
  • foster a culture of social enterprise
  • ensure that the right information and advice are available to those running social enterprises
  • enable social enterprises to access appropriate finance
  • enable social enterprises to work with government
  • monitor progress
As well as outlining the action plan, the document contains 31 short case studies of successful enterprises.
