2001 Progress review of the National strategy for neighbourhood renewal

Introduction
Reviews the progress made to date by the government on the recommendations of the 18 Policy Action Teams (PATs), which were set up by the Social Exclusion Unit as part of the development of a National Strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal.
Description
This report provides a brief introduction to the general remit of the Policy Action Teams and lists the topics which they covered:
  • jobs;
  • skills;
  • business;
  • neighbourhood management;
  • housing management;
  • neighbourhood wardens;
  • unpopular housing;
  • anti-social behaviour;
  • community self-help;
  • arts and sport;
  • schools plus;
  • young people;
  • shops;
  • financial services;
  • information technology;
  • learning lessons;
  • joining it up locally; and
  • better information.
It also outlines the key findings of each PAT and then describes the progress to date on each PAT recommendation, indicating time scales and any remaining issues for follow-up.
