Introduction
This policy guidance document covers recommended approaches for housing management to deliver cleaner, safer, greener public spaces.
Description
This guide is part of the Government's Cleaner Safer Greener Communities programme to support and share good practice in delivering quality public spaces. It covers strategic management issues necessary to provide the framework for improvement and specific tools for action. It offers advice on how to:
  • make places attractive;
  • manage the street scene;
  • keep areas clean;
  • encourage positive use;
  • make neighbourhoods safer places to live.
This policy guide includes example of good practice. It will be available and updated on line to reflect new tools as they become available.
