People and place: regeneration policy statement - UK

Introduction
This policy statement is an overview of the Scottish Executive’s regeneration strategy.
Description
Defines the regeneration challenge and highlights the scale and scope of the Executive's investment in transforming Scotland since devolution. Looks at the experience of regeneration, identifying some critical success factors. Sets out a new approach to improve the alignment of key private and public sector players; maximise the impact of investment in specific places; focus efforts on a small number of strategic geographic priorities; support tightly targeted action to regenerate the most deprived neighbourhoods; tackle land uses that can inhibit regeneration; and create mixed and vibrant communities.
