The URBAN MATRIX project aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge,
research results and tested practice between cities on themes related to
sustainable urban development. Through the use of an early survey, the project
asks the cities to indicate the themes that they would like the project to
address. This makes the project approach interactive and demand-driven.
Six thematic seminars will be organised in the course of the project
lifespan, twice per year in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Each workshop will address a
specific theme by means of presentations and critical discussions. A chair will
moderate the discussion and encourage all participants to play an active role in
the seminar.
The URBAN MATRIX thematic workshops will have a concrete focus. They will
offer transferable examples of tested practices and ‘how to do it’ in way that
attendees can take home with them. Workshops will be open to participation from
all interested cities.
You can find links to reports and presentations from each of the thematic
workshops as well as relevant information about future Urban Matrix workshops in
this section.
